These 0-60 times are incorrect,at least the 2011 times at least are incorrect, because I think they compared the 2011 camaro SS against a 2011 mustang GT. And they both were exactly the same on 0-60 I’m not sure if it was the 5.0L or the 4.6L, but the 0-60 was 5.1 seconds. But I think they used the 5.0L

  2. Ryan says

Trey, the 2011 times are correct, the MotorTrend did do a test against the SS and Mustang but under rated the 5.0. Everybody and including other magazines got 1/4 mile of 12.-12.8.

  3. Kevin says

Trey- Yes, MT did test the SS LS3 (M6) and it did do the same time as the 5.0 Tct-vii and they did have the same 0-60 time but C&D reported the SS was quicker in the quarter.

Ryan, Yeah, MT may have underrated the 5.0 or maybe needed a driver mod but it’s possible and likely that they couldn’t launch the SS either, (it’s really tricky, had mine for 1.5 years) and I must say it took me a long while to figure out how to launch correctly

Hi all these times are slightly out i own a 1995 V6 i live in the UK by the way where the gas prices are 1.50per liter. Im running a slp loudmouth with off road H pipe 53mm throttel body and a bbk induction kit and it ran a 17.7 1/4 mile.

Cody, not really that crazy, if you look at historic trends.

It is both sad and exciting (conundrum…) that my fastest stock car (my ’03 GT 5spd) is significantly slower than a $20,000 ’11 V6 6spd.

And got significantly worse fuel economy. Not a big deal, but in a daily driver, it’s neat to save that $20 or $30 a month.

Direct injection is a beautiful thing. Can’t wait to get a 3.7l in the future.

  6. Jaime says

Some times are not correct at all, for example, the 5.0 foxes all of them ran 0-60 in 6.1-6.3 secs. They state some does in 7.1 the automatic versions? I just don’t think so…My 92 gt automatic hatchback is good for 5.8-5.9ish secs with just mufflers and a k&n filter. They don’t show times neither for 1996-1999 gt’s, they are in the same range than previous fox body ones. I also noticed the 2003 mach 1 on 5.6? ithey actually are 5.2., the 2010 mustang gt is 4.9 whereas the 2011 5.0 is good for 4.2. Shelbys and saleens seem out also, generally 2008-2010 shelbys are 4.3 to 3.9 and saleens 4.1, 4.2…bad research, bad numbers.also many mustangs missing on the list.

What’s amazing is how a 1.6 honda with 170 hp and 111 tq makes better times than most these 5.0s ..seen a bone stock b16 crx get a 13.9 still gitting 25mpg….don’t make much sense but power to weight I guess

  8. mike says

Not correct for 2004 mustang gt I have one and bone stock it went a 14.2 who ever runs a 14.8 in it needs driving lessons.

  9. fastbikebob says

I just beat a new Mach 1, twice, from light to light. He stated 4300 lbs w/ 300 & something hp. I was on my 1974 SOHC CB 750 Honda. Was close to not even a fair fight. Even tjo he was on it, came back for the second time. Then put his ego in check & slowed to a crawl. Thats when ee spoke(@ the next light. New(39yrs.old now. this bike turned an Et. of 12.4 No wonder Motorcycyclist Magazine in celerbrateing 100 yrs. in circulation voted it the best bike EVER made.

  10. Tanner says

I don’t know what it has under the hood but my 2006 mustang Gt did 0to 60 in 3.7 seconds

  11. Dan says

These 1/4 mile times are way too optimistic. Just had a day at the track with my built up 05 gt and my friends gt500 and I was running 13.5 (93 octane, cammed with full exhaust) and he ran 12.9. No way in hell a stock 05 GT can make 13.5 (unless it’s freezing out), and a 5.0 can make 12.7 stock…

Maybe motor trend did their testing with drag radials on their cars… Either that or my friend and I need to start hitting the track on colder nights

  12. Trevor Veeck says

If you can run a 4.8 in a stock 01 cobra then i will give you a BJ and 1 million dollars. LOL so wrong

  13. Ed Kaminskas says

In 1965 when I was younger, Ihad a 1965 Mustang fastback with 4 sp and heavy duty suspension. I ran it on the drag strip in Conn.. It turned 15.45 in the 1/4 mile. I forget the speed; but I think it was about 89 MPH. Fun Days!
